Narrated by Amala Bhakta Das
The Sri
mad-Bhagavatam is an epic philosophical and literary classic, and holds a prominent position in India's voluminous written wisdom. It was written in Sanskrit by Srila Krishna Dvaipayana Vyasadeva about 5,000 years ago. After writing it, he taught it to his son Sukadeva Goswami, who later spoke it to Maharaja Pariksit in an assembly of sages on the bank of the sacred Ganges River. Translated into English and comentaried by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, it is now narrated for easy listening.
This 2 CD set contains approximately 90 hours of narration, using many voice characterizations to portray the book's numerous characters. This makes the spiritual accounts very compelling, enjoyable, and easy to listen to - a true meditation. The Indian background music and realistic sound effects; birds, elephants, chariots, thunderstorms, etc, help to fully absorb one's mind in the narration and produce a transcendental experience.
Two MP3 CDs; approximately 91 hours and 42 minutes. Note: Slight imperfections have occurred during the transfer from the original cassettes to the MP3 format CDs.
